Arriving on May 6, otherwise known as Free Comic Book Day, is a prequel story to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This slice of adventure is set to pit both Peter and Miles against a “new Super Villain whose powers they [don]t understand.” That villain being The Hood. Suits are the key behind unique abilities in terms of both combat and traversal. The sequel is sure to introduce plenty of new Spidey suits for both Peter and Miles, though another layer of depth could be on the way. The new trailer also showed off the new webwings mechanic, as well as the AR tech fitted to Peter’s and Miles’ lenses.

Fear not, because there are dozens and dozens of suits to unlock, with myriad colorful skins to pick from on each of them. From modern interpretations of classics to returning fan favourites, there are treats waiting for Spider-Man fans of all generations. They are now all pure cosmetics as well – a smart separation of form and function means picking the skills and abilities you equip are separate from your choice of suit. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases for PC via Steam and Epic on Thursday, 30th January – and as we recently learned, it won’t require a PSN account to play after all. With just a day to go until Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings onto PC, Sony has shared details of its platform-enhanced features, as well as the hardware required to run it. According to credible rumors, Marvel’s Venom by Insomniac Games is doing well, and gamers suspect it could become a launch title for the PlayStation 6. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a singleplayer game, not featuring online play of any sort. The district of Queens has also been added to the game, expanding the map.

Since the game lets you play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, this motif of them coming together to overcome their villains. While over double the size of its predecessor to start, Spider-Man 2’s size isn’t too surprising. Game files have been getting larger and larger in recent years, and the upcoming adventure already looks to be a bigger and more technically impressive experience.

But they aren’t just a flashy addition from the comics and movies – they entirely change how you navigate around Marvel’s New York. Marvel’s Spider-Man is an action-adventure game released in February 2018 for PS4 and later ported to PS5 and PC platforms. The Spider-Man superhero from Marvel Comics serves as the inspiration for the game, which Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment are both publishing. Each and every suit will reportedly feature a ‘symbiote variant version’ according to FandomWire. This could see our heroes using Venom’s symbiote powers to their advantage.

Overall, there’s slightly less emphasis on stealth encounters this time than in either Spider-Man or Miles Morales. As someone who found the stealth action of the previous games a little simplistic and routine, this new, louder approach is welcome. Spider-Man 2 (PS5) brings back some of the old suits from the previous two games including news suits and outfits for this sequel from vintage suits to what-if scenario costumes. But you can play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, switching between the heroic Spider-Men on your crime-fighting adventures to experience their individual gameplay abilities and story elements.
